In the early days of Stilettogal, I discussed how I went back to my roots at TheBroot, Santa Monica's all-natural hair treatment bar and introduced you to Samira Asemanfar, the founder of TheBroot and the super fabulous mani/pedi salon, bellacures.
Now Samira's back and we're taking a walk in her shoes today as she gives me the scoop on what being the owner of two successful businesses is like and what she likes the most about it!
Hillary Gadsby: How did you start your business?
Samira Asemanfar: I started my business from scratch using ingredients such as raw imagination, dedication, follow through and flexibility.
HG: What do you like most about being an entrepreneur?
SA: I love being an entrepreneur because I get to manifest things I imagine into reality and watch other people enjoy them. To me, there is nothing more satisfying!
HG: What kind of shoe are you and why?
SA: These days I am a Chanel ballerina flat. Because I'm classic, practical, comfortable yet elegant and when push comes to shove even if the Chanel ballerina flat is the only shoe in your closet somehow you can dress it up and make it work. And that's my life: elegant, classic and being creative to make things work.
HG: What are you most passionate about and why?
SA: I am passionate about the creation process. I love creating things that will elicit an emotional response within people, whether it is a marketing tactic or promotion, a new operations system, a service, a product or even just a well done dinner party.
